Introduction

Rock soapwort is an introduced perennial species that originates in Europe. It was introduced in North America (Canada and the US) as a garden plant and has escaped. It is a rock garden species that shows preference for rocky/stony sites (Rabeler and Hartman 2012). It is a prostrate to ascending perennial species with red, pink or white petals that flowers throughout the summer (Wikipedia 2012).
